DIY Scrabble Coasters

Today on the blog is a bit different then normal, a little DIY project! This is something that many of you might not know about me but I love crafting and doing DIY projects. In fact my whole house is filled with them and I simply love it! Up until just a little bit ago though I had never thought that I could mix that in with my photography blog! It’s something I love and I am sure many of you out there do as well so why not?! Come on and enjoy this little DIY project!

Things to gather:
-Scrabble tiles (you can purchase them in bulk for very cheap on amazon!)
-Hot Glue Gun
-Cork board
-Scissors or an X-acto knife
-Mod Podge Glue

Let’s get to Crafting!

First thing to do is to think up some good 4 letter words that go well together! This might be pretty hard but I have done the work already so I will give you what I used. Note since I am a photographer I did use some photography related words as well!

Photography related 4-letter words: shot, crop, edit, blog, snap, zoom, lens

Home related 4-letter words: cozy, home, warm, fire, love, hugs, kiss, safe, hold, hope, grow, pray, cafe, brew, java, foam, iced, chai, teas, mugs.

Remember to keep the letters as straight as possible!!DIY scrabble coasters, craft projects_1053.jpgOnce you have finished all four rows allow for some time for the letters to dry and then go ahead and cut them out!DIY scrabble coasters, craft projects_1061.jpg

The last and final task is to spray on some sort of sealer! I used Mod Podge clear spray but you can also use polyurethane spray! I also did about 3 coats!

You’re done! Now wasn’t that easy?! Keep repeating the process until you have finished the amount of coasters that you want! I did 6! 4 for our living room and two photography ones for in my office!! Have fun! Let me know how yours turned out! I would love to hear!

And what would a blog post be without my cute little Willow! She sits there all day long when I am in my office looking cute as usual! 🙂
